2013 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Rochioli Riverblock Vineyard – USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (3/24/2025)
This is picture perfect Rochioli. Beautiful depth, balance, deep fruit (mainly red), tinge of cola, touch of sweetness. Really impressive. Absolutely love it! (93 points)

1997 Château Maucaillou L’ Enclos – France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Moulis en Médoc (3/8/2025)
This bottle languished in my cellar till I drew it out for a casual slow roasted sirloin. It performed well beyond my expectations – a little sweetness from its presumable merlot and a counterbalancing tartness gave it great balance; all in a feathery light 12.5% package. Perfect for the meal, and an example of how minor Bdx can give so much pleasure. I could drink this any weeknight. (92 points)

2000 Château Calon-Ségur – France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe (1/15/2025)
Unlike my previous bottle this was all in its glory. Rich round Bordeaux that shows all the promise one expected of the 2000 vintage. I had a bottle last May which was disappointing; I speculated it might be coming out of its sleep phase and that assessment now seems correct. (93 points)
