Mt Robson is the highest mountain in the southern Canadian Rockies. It is a highly prominent peak, and while not particularly high at just under 13,000 feet it is a metaphor for the Canadian Rockies – it appears to be an easy climb but weather, difficulty and access make it a formidable mountaineering challenge. The Emperor Face is for elite climbers while the normal routes, the south face and the Kain route are more accessible but still dangerous and prone to turn ugly in the wrong weather.
Now, the Alpine Club of Canada (ACC) is planning the construction of a modern, permanent hut within the Park, for the use of mountaineers. The campaign is on, and I invite you to take a look at this landmark project. Recently it was featured in Gripped Magazine, linked below.
